One gun. Three murders. A killer on the move.

A young man is shot dead on a children's playground in Glasgow. Two casings in the rubber matting. A motorbike seen circling the estate. And ballistics that match a London cold case — a case DI Pippa Nash never closed.

DI Pippa Nash takes the call. She and DS Nick Moretti are on the next flight north.

In Glasgow, the local DI is territorial, evasive and very keen for them to leave. Then the same gun surfaces a third time — in a cannabis grow-house on a remote Northern Irish farm, alongside the body of a young Vietnamese man.

Nash and Moretti hit walls at every turn. Every lead they chase, someone pushes them off. Every witness they find, vanishes. The closer they get, the colder the trail goes.

This isn’t a cold case anymore.

And the gun isn't done.

The blistering third case for London detectives Nash and Moretti. Perfect for fans of Mark Billingham, MJ Arlidge and Cara Hunter.

MEET THE DETECTIVES:
DS Nick Moretti lives alone on a barge in a London marina, drinks his coffee from mismatched charity-shop mugs, and builds model boats in his spare time. He smokes a pipe when he wants to think, forgets to charge his phone more often than is helpful, and works best on instinct. He's well-liked, not above bending procedure when it suits him, and counting the days to his next holiday.

DI Pippa Nash is the kind of senior investigating officer her bosses don't always know how to handle. Career-driven, with a long stint in covert work behind her, she runs her team by three rules: assume nothing, believe no one, challenge everything. She writes in a blue counsel's notebook, pours stale coffee into the geranium on her office windowsill, and trains in martial arts when she's not working. Uncompromising on the job, fiercely loyal to her team — and three cases in to a partnership that won't quit.

Authentic and deeply intriguing, Shots Fired had me turning the pages until the early hours to see how the story unfolded. And I love the dynamic between Nash and Moretti. More please!
