James Davidson

- About
- James Davidson has hitherto only had a collection of poetry published, and we are delighted to bring out the first of his books, Outcast Sister. James was born in Liverpool, where he has now returned to live after several years in Central Europe. Having been mainly based in Budapest and Prague, his experiences there had a major influence on his fiction. He uses real events in history to explore the ideological legacies of the twentieth century from new angles. His currently unpublished debut novel The Chain, an existential Cold War thriller, won the First Novel Prize in 2019. With his background in journalism and academic interest in creative writing, James shows enormous potential as a novelist. Dark, mysterious, and ethereal – think D M Thomas and Andrei Platonov – readers will appreciate this new, truly original voice.
