Fiction Award for Riall Nolan
Congratulations to Riall Nolan who has won the Peace Corp’s prestigious Maria Thomas Fiction Award 2024, for his gripping action adventure thriller ONE BEATS THE BUSH. Past winners include Paul Theroux!
The prize is named after a relief worker who tragically lost her life in Ethiopia in 1989. Maria Thomas was an accomplished writer who received several accolades. Themes in her books included that of the cultural misunderstandings of Americans in Africa.
The fiction award in her honour has been awarded annually since 1990 by Peace Corps Worldwide (formerly Peace Corps Writers).
